Nice to meet you
I am a corporate dropout who left the automotive industry after 10 years to pursue my passion for fine art.
I love to use my hands and enjoy all the steps of a creative process. As the business world became more and more automated, I found there was less and less space to express my artistic vision, even in the creative field of marketing and graphic design. I wanted to get my hands dirty, make a mess, and finish each day satisfied with the work I had done, even if it wasn’t perfect.
Craving something real and human, I started Fox Franco, a brand focused on using classic printmaking techniques, tactile paper products, and vibrant inks to bring one-of-a-kind artwork to homes, offices, and any place that needs a touch of originality.
If you’re looking for something hand-made and full of life, these prints are sure to brighten your most cherished spaces. Use them to spread joy in your own home, or give them as a thoughtful gift for loved ones to bring a smile to their face every day.
The Printmaking PRocess
-
Linocut is a printmaking process that creates relief art prints by carving an image into a linoleum block, covering the block in ink, and printing it onto paper.
-
Yes! That is a well-known reputation for the same material, but linoleum had an artistic past almost as long as its history underfoot.
-
First patented by Frederick Walton in 1860, linoleum was initially used mostly for floors. By the late 1800s, however, artists had started using it for printmaking. It was also a popular and artistic way to create repeating patterns for wallpaper and printing book covers.
In the 1900s, more and more artists started using linoleum as a serious art medium. A couple of renown artists who made well-known linocut pieces include Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.
-
While it may look similar, linoleum is a much harder consistency than rubber, allowing for finer details, larger sizes, and a unique artistic touch.
